Join us at an upcoming event to learn about issues faced by immigrants, how you can get help or give help, and how we can work together to enhance people’s lives and strengthen our community. If you would like Just Neighbors to conduct a presentation or lead a discussion in the northern Virginia area, please contact us.
The Just Neighbor 5K Run/Walk on June 3, 2018 will raise funds and visibility for the work of Just Neighbors. The multi-charity event, to be held in Arlington’s Bluemont Park, is sponsored by Generosity D.C.
We invite you to be a “pace-setter” by signing up, not only to run but to commit to raising at least $200 by inviting friends, family and colleagues who want to make an impact on the lives of immigrants in our community to support you.
Participation is simple. Sign up using the link here https://www.generosityseries.com/charities/just-neighbors-ministry/d.c.–district-of-columbia/ and pay the registration fee of $25. In addition to the registration fee, we are asking all participants to raise a minimum of $200 between now and June 3. You can choose to make your own donation to support that goal and/or reach out to your peers who want to help our immigrant neighbors.
After you register, we’ll provide detailed information and training to help you set up a personal fundraising web page. Every dollar that you raise will go directly to Just Neighbors to offset legal fees and other costs involved in client cases.
Do you have a group of friends in your neighborhood, faith community or school who would like to participate? Think about forming a team to do the race together! The more people who sign up, the more money we can raise to help change the lives of our immigrant neighbors!
Whether you regularly run marathons or prefer leisurely walks in the park, we hope you’ll join us on June 3 to have fun and raise funds for Just Neighbors. After all, the goal of this event isn’t speed. The real winners will be Just Neighbors’ clients, who count on caring supporters like you to welcome them to their new land and new lives.
