The board of directors is pleased to announce that Erin McKenney is the new executive director of Just Neighbors. Erin is a native of Kentucky and graduate of Georgetown College (KY) with a degree in Marketing and Finance. She came to the Washington area in 1985 and had a 20+ year career with Verizon in a variety of management positions. In 2005, she felt a call to change direction and focus on service ministries through her church (Annandale United Methodist), where she has served as Missions chair, and still serves as President of the United Methodist Women. She has coordinated the FACETS hypothermia response at her church as well as multiple other missions with the poor and homeless in Fairfax County and around the world. She also served on the committee which helped author Fairfax County’s Ten Year Plan to End Homelessness. She most recently worked at Safe Haven, a day shelter for the homeless that provides nutritious food and hospitality to 100 clients weekly. Welcome, Erin!
