Just Neighbors regularly hosts several legal clinics each month, in addition to a handful of additional walk-in clinics throughout the year depending on our capacity.
Annandale Legal Clinic
The Annandale Legal Clinic is hosted once a month by Just Neighbors at the Just Neighbors main office. The clinic is typically held on a Tuesday from 6:00PM-8:30PM, but may vary depending on attorney availability. Please note that we will not be holding any clinics in the Fall of 2025, but we invite you to check back in the beginning of 2026 for upcoming opportunities.
Harrisonburg Legal Clinic
The Harrisonburg Legal Clinic is hosted by the Asbury United Methodist Church located in Harrisonburg, VA. The clinic is held every second Wednesday of the month from 6:00PM-9:00PM.
Volunteer Process
Once you express interest, we will add your contact information to our volunteer database. This ensures you receive regular emails about upcoming legal clinics and volunteer opportunities.
When an opportunity is available, you will receive an email containing all relevant details and a Sign-Up Genius link to register.
Please note that volunteer placements are confirmed on a first come, first served basis, and clinic slots often fill quickly. We encourage you to sign up as soon as possible to secure your preferred opportunity.
Volunteers at legal clinics are responsible for:
- Meeting one-on-one with clients to complete intake forms (generally in Spanish or English)
- Photocopying clients' legal documents
- When applicable, assist clients in filling out immigration forms
- Creating a welcoming and comfortable environment for clients
Training for new volunteers is held half hour before the clinic starts and is mandatory for first-time clinic volunteers. This is a great option for people who would like to give their time and talents to the immigrant community, but who can only volunteer on an occasional basis.
Please contact Sasia at sasia@justneighbors.org for questions.
Thank you for your interest in volunteering with Just Neighbors. We are grateful for your commitment to supporting immigrant and refugee families throughout our community.

Why I Volunteer
"I had the opportunity to work with a family who was seeking asylum based on gang-based violence in their home country. I worked with the family to get their declarations written for their case to be filed. It was very fulfilling to do work that I knew could potentially change the course of a family’s history forever."
