Just Neighbors regularly hosts four legal clinics each month, in addition to a handful of additional clinics throughout the year depending on our capacity.
Annandale Legal Clinic
The Annandale Legal Clinic is hosted once a month by Just Neighbors at the Just Neighbors main office. The clinic is typically held on a Tuesday from 6:00PM-8:30PM, but may vary depending on attorney availability.
Dar Al-Hijrah Legal Clinic
The Dar Al-Hiraj Legal Clinic is hosted by the Dar Al-Hijrah Islamic Center located in Annandale, VA. The clinic is held every second Thursday of the month from 8:30AM-12:00PM.
Harrisonburg Legal Clinic
The Harrisonburg Legal Clinic is hosted by the Asbury United Methodist Church located in Harrisonburg, VA. The clinic is held every second Wednesday of the month from 6:00PM-9:00PM.
Volunteers at legal clinics are responsible for:
- Meeting one-on-one with clients to complete intake forms (generally in Spanish or English)
- Photocopying clients' legal documents
- When applicable, assist clients in filling out immigration forms
- Creating a welcoming and comfortable environment for clients
Training for new volunteers is held one half hour before the clinic starts and is mandatory for first-time clinic volunteers. This is a great option for people who would like to give their time and talents to the immigrant community, but who can only volunteer on an occasional basis.

Why I Volunteer
"I had the opportunity to work with a family who was seeking asylum based on gang-based violence in their home country. I worked with the family to get their declarations written for their case to be filed. It was very fulfilling to do work that I knew could potentially change the course of a family’s history forever."
